Texas High School Basketball - Ray held off by Akins

December 5, 2025: Corpus Christi, TX 78411

In Friday's non-league test, the Akins Eagles (Austin, TX) basketball squad got by the host Ray Texans (Corpus Christi, TX), by a score of 57-53.

Next, the Eagles encounter the Madison Mavericks (San Antonio, TX) in a non-league test, on Friday, December 5. Akins will attempt to improve on its 8-1 season record. The Mavericks go into the bout with a 7-2 record after their 78-26 non-league win over Rockport-Fulton (Rockport, TX).

With the loss, Ray falls to 6-2 on the campaign. The Texans travel to Cotulla (Cotulla, TX) to play the Cowboys in a non-league bout on Friday, December 5. The Cowboys go into the bout with a record of 1-4. Cotulla lost 77-50 in their recent non-league bout against Rockport-Fulton (Rockport, TX)
