In Friday's league contest, the host Spring Grove Lions basketball team scored a big 62-38 triumph over the Houston Hurricanes.

The Lions (1-1) will now prepare for their match against North Fayette Valley (West Union, IA). The enter the non-league match with a 0-2 record. In their last match, North Fayette Valley was overwhelmed by Crestwood (Cresco, IA), 78-41, in a non-league match.

The Hurricanes now sport a 0-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Kingsland for a A Section 1 match on Tuesday, December 9.
