St. Scholastica Doves (Covington, LA) fans went home happy Friday as they saw their soccer squad hold off the visiting Byrd Yellow Jackets (Shreveport, LA), 1-0 in a non-league outing.

The Doves (8-1) will now prepare for their outing against Vandebilt Catholic (Houma, LA). The Terriers enter the non-league outing with a 1-2 record. In their last outing, Vandebilt Catholic was edged by St. Mary's Dominican (New Orleans, LA), 4-0, in a non-league outing.

Next up, the Yellow Jackets confront the Northshore Panthers (Slidell, LA) in a non-league test, on Saturday, December 6. Byrd will attempt to move on its 4-2 season record. The Panthers come into the test with a 3-2 record after their 1-0 non-league win over Benjamin Franklin (New Orleans, LA).
