Fans at Friday's non-league contest between the Nelson Island Islanders (Toksook Bay, AK) and the host Scammon Bay Eagles (Scammon Bay, AK), observed Nelson Island's volleyball team hold off Scammon Bay by a count of 2-1.

The Islanders (25-2) will now prepare for their battle against Kisimgiugtuq (Kivalina, AK). The Qavviks go into the non-league battle with a 15-6 record. In their last battle, Kisimgiugtuq tipped Napaaqtugmiut (Noatak, AK), 3-2, in a league battle.

The Eagles now own a 12-2 record.
