The Alexander Central Cougars basketball team (Taylorsville, NC), was nudged 45-44 in Tuesday's non-league battle with the host North Iredell Raiders (Olin, NC)

The Raiders now possess a 4-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to South Iredell for a non-league battle on Friday, December 9. North Iredell will confront a Vikings team coming off a 70-61 non-league loss to East Lincoln (Denver, NC). The Vikings record now stands at 2-4.

The Cougars (2-2) will now prepare for their battle against Newton-Conover (Newton, NC). The Red Devils come into the non-league battle with a 3-2 record. In their last battle, Newton-Conover edged Patton (Morganton, NC), 45-43, in a non-league battle.
