In Tuesday's non-league outing, the Mt. Vernon Mustangs (Mt. Vernon, IA) basketball squad beat the visiting Benton Bobcats (Van Horne, IA), by a count of 54-38.

The Mustangs (2-1) will now prepare for their outing against Vinton-Shellsburg (Vinton, IA). The Vikings go into the non-league outing with a 2-4 record. In their last outing, Vinton-Shellsburg was topped by Solon (Solon, IA), 62-26, in a non-league outing.
