Independence Mustangs (Independence, IA) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Clear Creek-Amana Clippers (Tiffin, IA), 61-53 in a league bout.

With the victory, Independence upgrades its record to 4-0 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Williamsburg (Williamsburg, IA) to play the Raiders in a WAMAC - West bout on Friday, December 9. The Raiders come into the bout with a record of 0-3. Williamsburg lost 66-50 in their recent non-league bout against Xavier (Cedar Rapids, IA)

Next up, the Clippers play the Iowa City Little Hawks (Iowa City, IA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 9. Clear Creek-Amana will attempt to advance on its 1-2 season record. The Little Hawks go into the test with a 1-1 record after their 51-50 non-league win over Muscatine (Muscatine, IA).
