Southwest Trojans (Washburn, MO) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting East Newton Patriots (Granby, MO), 48-41 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Southwest upgrades its record to 2-1 on the season. The Trojans host Marionville (Marionville, MO) to play the Comets in a non-league bout on Friday, December 9. The Comets go into the bout with a record of 2-0.

Next up, the Patriots play the Mt. Vernon Mountaineers (Mt. Vernon, MO) in a Big 8 bout, on Tuesday, December 13. East Newton will attempt to upgrade on its 1-1 season record.
