The Anson Bearcats (Wadesboro, NC) basketball nipped the visiting Gray Stone Day Knights (Misenheimer, NC), 25-24 in Tuesday's non-league test.
The Bearcats (1-2) will now prepare for their test against Union Academy (Monroe, NC). The Cardinals go into the non-league test with a 4-2 record. In their last test, Union Academy got by Forest Hills (Marshville, NC), 69-58, in a non-league test.
The Knights now own a 1-2 record. They play next when they host Mount Pleasant for a 1A/2A Conference 35 test on Friday, December 9. Gray Stone Day will encounter a Tigers squad coming off a 49-28 non-league loss to Montgomery Central (Troy, NC). The Tigers record now stands at 2-3.
