Newton-Conover Red Devils (Newton, NC) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Patton Panthers (Morganton, NC), 41-25 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Newton-Conover upgrades its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Red Devils travel to Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC) to play the Cougars in a non-league bout on Friday, December 9. The Cougars come into the bout with a record of 3-0. Alexander Central won 26-19 in their recent non-league bout against North Iredell (Olin, NC)

Next up, the Panthers play the Maiden Blue Devils (Maiden, NC) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, December 7. Patton will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record. The Blue Devils come into the bout with a 2-1 record after their 27-18 non-league win over Hibriten (Lenoir, NC).
