Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting A.C. Reynolds Rockets (Asheville, NC), 47-43 in a non-league battle.

The Pioneers now possess a 6-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Mountain Heritage for a non-league battle on Friday, December 9. Watauga will confront a Cougars team coming off a 47-40 non-league loss to Pisgah (Canton, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 0-3.

The Rockets (0-1) will now prepare for their battle against North Buncombe (Weaverville, NC). The Black Hawks come into the non-league battle with a 4-1 record.
