Anson Bearcats (Wadesboro, NC) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Gray Stone Day Knights (Misenheimer, NC), 38-29 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Anson upgrades its record to 2-1 on the season. The Bearcats host Union Academy (Monroe, NC) to play the Cardinals in a non-league bout on Thursday, December 8. The Cardinals go into the bout with a record of 4-2. Union Academy lost 46-42 in their recent non-league bout against Forest Hills (Marshville, NC)

Next up, the Knights play the Mount Pleasant Tigers (Mt. Pleasant, NC) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 9. Gray Stone Day will attempt to upgrade on its 2-2 season record. The Tigers go into the bout with a 2-5 record after their 86-48 non-league win over Montgomery Central (Troy, NC).
