McGuffey Highlanders (Claysville, PA) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Carmichaels Mighty Mikes (Carmichaels, PA), 60-17 in a non-league bout.

With the win, McGuffey upgrades its record to 2-0 on the season. The Highlanders host West Greene (Waynesburg, PA) to play the Pioneers in a non-league bout on Monday, December 11. The Pioneers go into the bout with a record of 1-1. West Greene lost 36-30 in their recent non-league bout against Frazier (Perryopolis, PA)

Next up, the Mighty Mikes play the California Trojans (Coal Center, PA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 8. Carmichaels will attempt to upgrade on its 1-2 season record. The Trojans go into the bout with a 0-1 record after their 74-64 non-league loss to Bethlehem Center (Fredericktown, PA).
