South Plaquemines Hurricanes (Buras, LA) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host L.W. Higgins Hurricanes (Marrero, LA), 66-61 in a non-league bout.

With the win, South Plaquemines upgrades its record to 5-6 on the season. The Hurricanes travel to Willow (New Orleans, LA) to clash with the Lions in a non-league bout on Friday, December 8. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 3-5. Willow lost 64-60 in their recent non-league bout against Wright (New Orleans, LA)

Next up, the Hurricanes clash with the Kennedy Cougars (New Orleans, LA) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, December 7. L.W. Higgins will attempt to upgrade on its 0-6 season record. The Cougars go into the bout with a 4-3 record after their 38-30 non-league win over Archbishop Rummel (Metairie, LA).
