In Friday's non-league contest, the visiting Alcorn Central Bears basketball team scored a close 51-44 triumph over the Walnut Wildcats.
The Bears (5-3) will now prepare for their contest against McNairy Central (Selmer, TN). The Bobcats go into the non-league contest with a 3-3 record. In their last contest, McNairy Central was tipped by Crockett County (Alamo, TN), 59-35, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Wildcats battle the Vardaman Rams (Vardaman, MS) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, December 7. Walnut will attempt to better on its 5-3 season record. The Rams go into the contest with a 1-2 record after their 73-36 non-league loss to Mantachie (Mantachie, MS).
