In Friday's non-league contest, the host West Liberty Comets basketball team scored a close 52-46 triumph over the Beckman Trailblazers.

The Comets (1-1) will now prepare for their contest against Hillcrest Academy (Kalona, IA). The Ravens go into the non-league contest with a 2-0 record. In their last contest, Hillcrest Academy nipped Columbus (Columbus Junction, IA), 80-28, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Trailblazers confront the Durant Wildcats (Durant, IA) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, December 10. Beckman will attempt to better on its 1-1 season record. The Wildcats go into the contest with a 0-2 record after their 73-46 league loss to Anamosa (Anamosa, IA).
