The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the Cherokee Chiefs (Rogersville, TN) and the visiting University School Buccaneers (Johnson City, TN), observed Cherokee's basketball team edge University School by a score of 57-53.

The Chiefs (1-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Dobyns-Bennett (Kingsport, TN). The Indians come into the non-league challenge with a 7-1 record. In their last challenge, Dobyns-Bennett edged Jefferson County (Dandridge, TN), 83-54, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Buccaneers encounter the Washburn Pirates (Washburn, TN) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, December 16. University School will attempt to improve on its 3-2 season record.
