In Friday's non-league contest, the host Polytechnic Parrots basketball team scored a close 63-57 win over the Ferris Yellowjackets.

The Parrots (5-7) will now prepare for their contest against Maypearl (Maypearl, TX). The Panthers come into the non-league contest with a 2-8 record. In their last contest, Maypearl edged Trimble Tech (Fort Worth, TX), 54-35, in a non-league contest.
