In Friday's non-league contest, the visiting McMullen County Cowboys basketball team scored a good 54-41 triumph over the Nixon-Smiley Mustangs.
The Cowboys (8-4) will now prepare for their contest against Three Rivers (Three Rivers, TX). The Bulldogs go into the non-league contest with a 1-3 record. In their last contest, Three Rivers was topped by Monte Alto (Monte Alto, TX), 61-38, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Mustangs confront the Pleasanton Eagles (Pleasanton, TX) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, December 10. Nixon-Smiley will attempt to better on its 2-4 season record. The Eagles go into the contest with a 7-6 record after their 57-43 non-league win over Jourdanton (Jourdanton, TX).
