In Friday's non-league contest, the visiting Irion County Hornets basketball team scored a big 61-39 triumph over the Rankin Red Devils.
The Hornets (8-4) will now prepare for their contest against Blackwell (Blackwell, TX). The Hornets go into the 1A Region II District 11 contest with a 6-5 record. In their last contest, Blackwell was trounced by Clyde (Clyde, TX), 38-35, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Red Devils confront the Robert Lee Steers (Robert Lee, TX) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, December 10. Rankin will attempt to better on its 4-2 season record. The Steers go into the contest with a 1-7 record after their 43-17 non-league loss to Hawley (Hawley, TX).
