Hale Center Owls (Hale Center, TX) backers went home thrilled Saturday as they saw their basketball team thwart the visiting Bowie Jackrabbits (Bowie, TX), 67-59 in a non-league contest.

The Owls (5-0) will now prepare for their contest against Floydada (Floydada, TX). The Whirlwinds go into the non-league contest with a 1-6 record. In their last contest, Floydada was topped by Bowie (Bowie, TX), 81-65, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Jackrabbits battle the Mineral Wells Rams (Mineral Wells, TX) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, December 9. Bowie will attempt to better on its 4-5 season record. The Rams go into the contest with a 4-5 record after their 48-37 non-league loss to Palmer (Palmer, TX).
