In Saturday's non-league contest, the host Leesburg Yellow Jackets basketball team scored a close 62-59 triumph over the Jones Fightin' Tigers.

The Yellow Jackets (3-1) will now prepare for their match against Springstead (Spring Hill, FL). The Eagles enter the 5A District 5 match with a 0-5 record. In their last match, Springstead was nudged by Nature Coast Tech (Brooksville, FL), 51-39, in a non-league match.

The Fightin' Tigers now own a 3-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Orlando Christian Prep for a non-league match on Tuesday, December 9. Jones will face a Warriors squad coming off a 44-41 non-league loss to Central Florida Christian Academy (Ocoee, FL). The Warriors record now stands at 4-1.
