Groveton Indians (Groveton, TX) supporters left the game happy Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the host Tarkington Longhorns (Cleveland, TX), 32-31 in a non-league match.

The Indians (3-5) will now prepare for their contest against Wells (Wells, TX). The Pirates go into the non-league contest with a 2-5 record. In their last contest, Wells was tipped by Cumberland Academy (Tyler, TX), 41-32, in a non-league contest.

Next up, the Longhorns face the Jasper Bulldogs (Jasper, TX) in a non-league match, on Tuesday, December 9. Tarkington will attempt to advance on its 1-11 season record. The Bulldogs enter the match with a 6-9 record after their 45-26 non-league loss to Willis (Willis, TX).
