The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Winfield Generals (Winfield, WV) and the visiting Independence Patriots (Coal City, WV), observed Winfield's basketball team overcome Independence by a margin of 46-34.

The Generals (1-1) will now prepare for their challenge against St. Albans (St. Albans, WV). The Red Dragons enter the Mountain State battle with a 1-0 record. In their last battle, St. Albans thwarted Buckhannon-Upshur (Buckhannon, WV), 55-25, in a non-league battle.

The Patriots now own a 0-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Greenbrier West for a non-league battle on Tuesday, December 9.
