The Smith-Cotton Tigers (Sedalia, MO) basketball edged the visiting Springfield Catholic Fighting Irish (Springfield, MO), 50-44 in Saturday's non-league bout.

The Tigers now possess a 4-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Lee's Summit West for a non-league test on Tuesday, December 9.

The Fighting Irish (1-3) will now prepare for their test against Marionville (Marionville, MO). The Comets come into the non-league test with a 3-1 record. In their last test, Marionville held off Clever (Clever, MO), 54-48, in a non-league test.
