Minersville Battlin' Miners (Minersville, PA) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Mount Carmel RED TORNADOES (Mount Carmel, PA), 50-36 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Minersville upgrades its record to 2-1 on the campaign. The Battlin' Miners host Tri-Valley (Hegins, PA) to play the Bulldogs in a Schuylkill County 2 bout on Thursday, December 8. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a record of 2-0. Tri-Valley won 50-36 in their recent non-league bout against Northern Lebanon (Fredericksburg, PA)

Next up, the RED TORNADOES play the Shamokin Area Indians (Coal Township, PA) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, December 10. Mount Carmel will attempt to upgrade on its 1-1 season record. The Indians come into the bout with a 2-1 record after their 57-44 non-league loss to Crestwood (Mountain Top, PA).
