South Sumter Raiders (Bushnell, FL) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Lake Weir Hurricanes (Ocala, FL), 43-31 in a league bout.

With the win, South Sumter upgrades its record to 2-0 on the season. The Raiders host Hope Academy (Groveland, FL) to play the Trojan Tigers in a non-league bout on Monday, December 12. The Trojan Tigers go into the bout with a record of 3-0. Hope Academy won 41-33 in their recent non-league bout against Wade Christian Academy (Melbourne, FL)

Next up, the Hurricanes play the Umatilla Bulldogs (Umatilla, FL) in a bout, on Friday, December 9. Lake Weir will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a 2-1 record after their 46-42 non-league win over Citrus (Inverness, FL).
