Leesville Wampus Cats (Leesville, LA) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Evans Eagles (Evans, LA), 55-44 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Leesville upgrades its record to 5-3 on the campaign. The Wampus Cats host Northwood (Lena, LA) to play the Gators in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 12. The Gators come into the bout with a record of 3-6.

Next up, the Eagles play the St. Edmund Fighting Blue Jays (Eunice, LA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 8. Evans will attempt to upgrade on its 2-3 season record. The Fighting Blue Jays come into the bout with a 3-0 record after their 62-35 non-league win over Basile (Basile, LA).
