The Pearl Pirates basketball team scored 72 points and held the host Florence Eagles to 70 in the Pirates non-league triumph on Thursday.
The Pirates now sport a 8-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Mendenhall for a non-league contest on Saturday, December 9. Pearl will meet a Tigers team coming off a 58-37 non-league win over Bay Springs (Bay Springs, MS). The Tigers record now stands at 9-3.
The Eagles (8-4) will now prepare for their bout against Richland (Richland, MS). The Rangers come into the non-league bout with a 6-4 record. In their last bout, Richland nipped Pisgah (Sandhill, MS), 65-52, in a non-league bout.
