The Hughes Springs Mustangs basketball team (Hughes Springs, TX), was routed 78-48 in Thursday's non-league battle with the visiting Hemphill Hornets (Hemphill, TX)
The Hornets now sport a 5-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Gunter for a 3A Region II District 11 battle on Friday, December 8. Hemphill will battle a Tigers team coming off a 45-35 non-league win over Atlanta (Atlanta, TX). The Tigers record now stands at 5-2.
The Mustangs (2-9) will now prepare for their battle against Ore City (Ore City, TX). The Rebels come into the non-league battle with a 4-7 record. In their last battle, Ore City was routed by CHAAMP HomeSchool (Mt. Pleasant, TX), 31-27, in a non-league battle.
