The Simpson Academy Cougars basketball team (Mendenhall, MS), was toppled 69-61 in Thursday's non-league battle with the visiting Heritage Academy Patriots (Columbus, MS)

The Patriots now possess a 7-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Jackson Academy for a non-league battle on Saturday, December 9. Heritage Academy will confront a Raiders team coming off a 69-31 non-league win over Pillow Academy (Greenwood, MS). The Raiders record now stands at 10-0.

The Cougars (7-3) will now prepare for their battle against Wayne Academy (Waynesboro, MS). The Jaguars come into the MAIS 5A District 2 battle with a 3-3 record. In their last battle, Wayne Academy was toppled by Lamar (Meridian, MS), 51-42, in a league battle.
