The Hubbertville Lions (Fayette, AL) basketball knocked off the visiting Phillips Bears (Bear Creek, AL), 64-48 in Thursday's non-league test.
The Lions (3-4) will now prepare for their test against Lynn (Lynn, AL). The Bears go into the 1A Area 11 test with a 3-2 record. In their last test, Lynn went down by Marion County (Guin, AL), 60-41, in a non-league test.
The Bears now own a 3-6 record. They play next when they travel to Belgreen for a 1A Area 14 test on Tuesday, December 12. Phillips will encounter a Bulldogs squad coming off a 38-33 non-league loss to Tharptown (Russellville, AL). The Bulldogs record now stands at 6-3.
