Joplin Eagles (Joplin, MO) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Leavenworth PIONEERS (Leavenworth, KS), 57-48 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Joplin upgrades its record to 2-1 on the season. The Eagles travel to Carthage (Carthage, MO) to play the Tigers in a non-league bout on Friday, December 8. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 1-0. Carthage won 65-34 in their recent non-league bout against Monett (Monett, MO)

Next up, the PIONEERS play the Basehor-Linwood Bobcats (Basehor, KS) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 2. Leavenworth will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record.
