Valley View Blazers (Jonesboro, AR) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Manila Lions (Manila, AR), 67-49 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Valley View upgrades its record to 5-4 on the season. The Blazers travel to Newport (Newport, AR) to clash with the Greyhounds in a non-league bout on Monday, December 11. The Greyhounds go into the bout with a record of 0-6. Newport lost 81-69 in their recent league bout against Hoxie (Hoxie, AR)

Next up, the Lions clash with the Piggott Mohawks (Piggott, AR) in a 3A Region 3 bout, on Friday, December 8. Manila will attempt to upgrade on its 2-5 season record. The Mohawks go into the bout with a 0-8 record after their 54-17 league loss to Corning (Corning, AR).
