The Hammond Morton Governors basketball team scored 69 points and held the host Gary West Side Cougars to 34 in the Governors league triumph on Thursday.

The Governors now sport a 8-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Highland for a non-league contest on Saturday, December 9. Hammond Morton will meet a Trojans team coming off a 41-37 non-league win over East Chicago Central (East Chicago, IN). The Trojans record now stands at 5-4.

The Cougars (0-8) will now prepare for their contest against Hammond Bishop Noll (Hammond, IN). The Warriors enter the Greater South Shore contest with a 3-3 record. In their last contest, Hammond Bishop Noll triumphed over Calumet New Tech (Gary, IN), 48-18, in a league contest.
