Illinois High School Basketball - Marengo can't hold off Winnebago

The Winnebago Indians basketball team scored 45 points and held the visiting Marengo Indians to 39 in the Indians non-league triumph on Thursday.
The Indians now sport a 3-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Byron for a Big Northern contest on Friday, December 8. Winnebago will battle a Tigers team coming off a 49-35 non-league win over IC Catholic Prep (Elmhurst, IL). The Tigers record now stands at 4-2.
The Indians (3-6) will now prepare for their contest against St. Edward (Elgin, IL). The Green Wave enter the non-league contest with a 4-5 record. In their last contest, St. Edward nudged Chicago Hope Academy (Chicago, IL), 59-33, in a league contest.
