Braden River Pirates (Bradenton, FL) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Winthrop College Prep Academy Spartans (Riverview, FL), 54-43 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Braden River upgrades its record to 3-0 on the campaign. The Pirates host Lakewood Ranch (Bradenton, FL) to play the Mustangs in a non-league bout on Friday, December 8. The Mustangs come into the bout with a record of 2-3. Lakewood Ranch won 46-35 in their recent non-league bout against Parrish Community (Parrish, FL)

Next up, the Spartans play the Admiral Farragut BlueJackets (St. Petersburg, FL) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 8. Winthrop College Prep Academy will attempt to advance on its 5-3 season record. The BlueJackets go into the test with a 0-4 record after their 45-27 non-league loss to Universal Academy (Tampa, FL).
