In Saturday's non-league contest, the host Eastern Comets basketball team scored a close 41-37 win over the Alexandria-Monroe Tigers.

The Comets (1-1) will now prepare for their contest against Tri-Central (Sharpsville, IN). The Trojans come into the Hoosier Heartland contest with a 1-1 record. In their last contest, Tri-Central edged Cowan (Muncie, IN), 45-40, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Tigers battle the Blackford Bruins (Hartford City, IN) in a Central Indiana contest, on Friday, December 13. Alexandria-Monroe will attempt to better on its 1-3 season record. The Bruins come into the contest with a 2-1 record after their 65-34 non-league win over Blue River Valley (Mt. Summit, IN).
