In Saturday's non-league contest, the host Sunset Apollos basketball team scored a close 70-67 triumph over the David Douglas Scots.
The Apollos (2-0) will now prepare for their contest against Sandy (Sandy, OR). The Pioneers go into the non-league contest with a 3-0 record. In their last contest, Sandy nipped Hood River Valley (Hood River, OR), 68-55, in a non-league contest.
