The Hammond Central Wolves basketball squad (Hammond, IN), was nudged 49-43 in Saturday's non-league battle with the host Portage Indians (Portage, IN)

With the victory, Portage advances its record to 2-0 on the year. The Indians travel to Fort Wayne Bishop Luers (Fort Wayne, IN) to meet the Knights in a non-league challenge on Saturday, December 14. The Knights come into the challenge with a record of 1-0.

In their next game, the Wolves battle the Bloom Blazing Trojan (Chicago Heights, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, December 10. Hammond Central will attempt to improve on its 3-3 season record. The Blazing Trojan come into the challenge with a 4-1 record after their 64-38 non-league win over Joliet Central (Joliet, IL).
