The Mount Carmel RED TORNADOES (Mount Carmel, PA) basketball edged the host Tamaqua Blue Raiders (Tamaqua, PA), 57-54 in Saturday's non-league bout.

The RED TORNADOES now possess a 3-0 record. They play next when they host Hughesville for a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 10. Mount Carmel will play a Spartans team coming off a 60-50 non-league loss to Shikellamy (Sunbury, PA). The Spartans record now stands at 0-2.

With the loss, Tamaqua falls to 0-3 on the campaign. The Blue raiders host Pottsville (Pottsville, PA) to play the Crimson Tide in a Schuylkill County 1 bout on Monday, December 9. The Crimson Tide go into the bout with a record of 2-0. Pottsville won 53-46 in their recent league bout against Blue Mountain (Schuylkill Haven, PA)
