In Saturday's non-league contest, the host Carlynton Cougars basketball team scored a good 59-48 triumph over the Southmoreland Scotties.
The Cougars (2-1) will now prepare for their contest against Leechburg (Leechburg, PA). The Blue Devils go into the non-league contest with a 0-2 record. In their last contest, Leechburg was topped by Jeannette (Jeannette, PA), 38-34, in a league contest.
In their next game, the Scotties battle the Greensburg Salem Golden Lions (Greensburg, PA) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, December 10. Southmoreland will attempt to better on its 2-2 season record. The Golden Lions go into the contest with a 1-1 record after their 61-33 non-league loss to Hempfield Area (Greensburg, PA).
