The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Santa Anna Mountaineers (Santa Anna, TX) and the host Lometa Hornets (Lometa, TX), observed Santa Anna's basketball team overwhelm Lometa by a margin of 48-26.

The Mountaineers (6-2) will now prepare for their challenge against May (May, TX). The Tigers come into the 1A Region III District 21 challenge with a 4-8 record. In their last challenge, May trounced Lingleville (Lingleville, TX), 46-13, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Hornets battle the Cherokee Indians (Cherokee, TX) in a 1A Region IV District 25 challenge, on Tuesday, December 10. Lometa will attempt to better on its 0-6 season record. The Indians come into the challenge with a 4-1 record after their 46-33 non-league win over Rochelle (Rochelle, TX).
