Bellevue Comets (Bellevue, IA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Galena Pirates (Galena, IL), 61-46 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Bellevue upgrades its record to 6-0 on the season. The Comets travel to Monticello (Monticello, IA) to play the Panthers in a River Valley bout on Friday, December 9. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 3-0. Monticello won 53-13 in their recent league bout against Anamosa (Anamosa, IA)

Next up, the Pirates play the Pearl City Wolves (Pearl City, IL) in a non-league game, on Tuesday, December 13. Galena will attempt to move on its 4-3 season record. The Wolves enter the game with a 3-5 record after their 50-37 league win over Aquin Catholic (Freeport, IL).
