Independence Bulldogs (Independence, KS) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Mulvane Wildcats (Mulvane, KS), 51-32 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Independence upgrades its record to 2-1 on the season. The Bulldogs host Collegiate (Wichita, KS) to play the Spartans in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 10. The Spartans go into the bout with a record of 2-0. Collegiate won 57-47 in their recent non-league bout against Labette County (Altamont, KS)

Next up, the Wildcats play the Parsons Vikings (Parsons, KS) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, December 10. Mulvane will attempt to upgrade on its 0-3 season record. The Vikings go into the bout with a 0-3 record after their 65-64 non-league loss to Circle (Towanda, KS).
