In Thursday's non-league outing, the Mercedes Tigers (Mercedes, TX) basketball squad edged the host Mission Eagles (Mission, TX), by a count of 56-50.
The Tigers (5-6) will now prepare for their outing against Harlingen (Harlingen, TX). The Cardinals go into the non-league outing with a 4-9 record. In their last outing, Harlingen held off Rio Grande City (Rio Grande City, TX), 50-42, in a non-league outing.
The Eagles now hold a 2-5 record. They play next when they host Sharyland for a non-league outing on Friday, December 9. Mission will face a Rattlers team coming off a 48-43 non-league loss to Weslaco (Weslaco, TX). The Rattlers record now stands at 2-8.
