Melrose Buffaloes (Melrose, NM) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Goddard Rockets (Roswell, NM), 46-45 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Melrose upgrades its record to 5-0 on the campaign. The Buffaloes travel to Dexter (Dexter, NM) to play the Demons in a non-league bout on Thursday, December 15. The Demons come into the bout with a record of 2-1. Dexter won 60-28 in their recent non-league bout against Cloudcroft (Cloudcroft, NM)

Next up, the Rockets play the Aztec Tigers (Aztec, NM) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 9. Goddard will attempt to upgrade on its 3-4 season record. The Tigers come into the bout with a 0-3 record after their 38-25 non-league loss to Moriarty (Moriarty, NM).
