Shoreham-Wading River Wildcats (Shoreham, NY) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host William Floyd Colonials (Mastic Beach, NY), 54-52 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Shoreham-Wading River upgrades its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Hampton Bays (Hampton Bays, NY) to play the Baymen in a Section 11 A-4 bout on Tuesday, December 13. The Baymen come into the bout with a record of 3-3. Hampton Bays won 45-21 in their recent non-league bout against Wyandanch (Wyandanch, NY)

Next up, the Colonials play the Longwood Lions (Middle Island, NY) in a Section 11 AA-2 bout, on Monday, December 12. William Floyd will attempt to upgrade on its 1-3 season record.
