Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Mercy Monarchs (Omaha, NE) and the visiting Platteview Trojans (Springfield, NE), saw Mercy's basketball squad hold off Platteview by a count of 26-22.

With the victory, Mercy upgrades its record to 1-3 on the campaign. The Monarchs host Duchesne (Omaha, NE) to play the Cardinals in a non-league challenge on Friday, December 16. The Cardinals come into the challenge with a record of 0-0.

Next up, the Trojans play the Plattsmouth Blue Devils (Plattsmouth, NE) in a challenge, on Monday, January 2. Platteview will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record.
