Lawrence Upper Lions (Sagamore Hills, OH) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Academy for Urban Scholars Hawks (Youngstown, OH), 59-50 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Lawrence Upper upgrades its record to 1-1 on the season. The Lions travel to St. Martin de Porres (Cleveland, OH) to play the Lions in a Lake Effect bout on Monday, December 11. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 1-1. St. Martin de Porres lost 84-36 in their recent non-league bout against Madison (Madison, OH)

Next up, the Hawks play the United Golden Eagles (Hanoverton, OH) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, December 9. Academy for Urban Scholars will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record. The Golden Eagles go into the bout with a 0-2 record after their 62-31 non-league loss to Marlington (Alliance, OH).
